My favorite holiday of the entire year is always the Fourth of July. I just love patriotism and ‘Merica. Plus fireworks, good food, and even better company is always a bonus. This year, I will be celebrating with not one but TWO Fourth of July parties, and I can not wait for them! Below you can find all of the decorations, recipes, and activity instructions that all be using myself and then some!
Another note about 4th of July: Many people decide to get a lil (okay a lot) tipsy on this holiday which is FINE. But PLEASE drink responsibly. Mixing drunkenness and explosives is never a good idea, and I hate hearing stories of firework incidents. More of the story: BE SAFE AND SMART!!!
Paleo BBQ Ribs by Ellie Eats – I hate to toot my own horn, but these are the best ribs that I have ever had, and my friends always complement them also! The meat is tender, and the sauce is sticky and delicious. These will be the star of the show at your Fourth of July party!
The Perfect Burger by PaleOMG and The Civilized Caveman – This is the burger recipe that you’ve been waiting for all of your life. I’ve used it for the past two years, and it never fails me. Top it off with your choice of goodies and you’ve got a great meal. My favorites are guacamole, Annie’s ketchup, and Sir Kensington’s mayonnaise.
Chili Lime Burgers by Ellie Eats – Another one of my favorite burger recipes, and it’s SO simple!
Chicken Kabobs from Paleo Grubs – Chicken kabobs are perfect for everyone! They’re simple, delicious, and sure to be a crowd favorite.
And OBVIOUSLY you need to have some Applegate Grass Fed Hot Dogs to enjoy!
Appetizers / Snacks:
Plantain chips and guacamole
Assorted paleo chips (Jackson’s Honest are my favorite)
White and blue corn tortilla chips with salsa if you’re feeling festive and non-paleo 🙂
Chicken Spring Rolls + “Peanut Sauce” – They may not be all American, but they are all delicious.
Corn On the Cob – I know it’s not paleo, but 4th of July just wouldn’t be the same without some good ol’ corn on the cob. If I decide to do corn, I always make sure to get it local and non-GMO. Then I slather it with some Kerrygold grass-fed butter for some seriously good eats. And to make it even more delicious, I think I might wrap it in bacon this year! Recipe here.
The Perfect Parsnip Fries by Ellie Eats – The title says it all
Holy Guacamole Salad by Stupid Easy Paleo – I can’t WAIT to make this salad for my fourth celebrations!! It’s fresh, delicious, and not your typical boring salad!
American Flag Fruit Skewers – There’s no link for this “recipe”, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. Take some kabob sticks and layer them with strawberries, bananas, and blueberries to make the design of the flag. To preserve the bananas, squirt a little bit of lemon juice over them. Otherwise, you could cut out rounds of apples with cookie cutters instead. If you don’t feel like taking all that time, you can always just cut up a bunch of red, white, and blue fruit for a fruit salad!
Drinks (some boozy, some not):
Sparkling Red, White, and Blue Sangria by Gimme Some Oven – This drink sounds absolutely delicious, and is fairly easy to make!
Frozen Strawberry Pineapple Margaritas by PaleOMG – It’s red, it’s boozy, and it’s f**king delicious. Everything ‘Merica and 4th of July.
Patriotic Smoothie by A Mom’s Take – For the kids or for those of you staying sober on the Fourth, this smoothie is the perfect way to enjoy a fun drink! Just sub full fat coconut cream or coconut milk yogurt for the yogurt and your dairy free milk of choice for the milk.
Berry Infused Water by The Puzzled Palate – and the most simple and delicious 4th of July beverage of all is…
Gluten Free Monster Cookies by Ellie Eats – These cookies are definitely not paleo, but they ARE delicious–and they’re my family’s specialty. If you use red, white, and blue M&Ms and maybe add sprinkles, they’ll be PERFECT for you festivities!
Salted Caramel Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches by Ellie Eats – Because macarons are perfect for any get together. Your friends and family will be so impressed by your culinary skills.
Paleo Fruit Pizza by The Paleo Parents – Fruit pizza is a MUST on the Fourth of July, and you’ll never believe that this recipe
Paleo Cheesecake by Against All Grain – Have your cheesecake and eat it too…without the gross feeling afterwards! This cheesecake is completely free of dairy and grain and every bit as delicious.
Mixed Berry Vanilla Bean Cream Tarts by PaleOMG – Juli has done it AGAIN. Gosh her recipes are always my absolute favorites.
Last but not least, you MUST eat s’mores on the Fourth of July. I think it’s a rule. So stock up on Elyon Marshmallows, Gluten Free Graham Crackers, and Fair Trade Dark Chocolate and treat yourself to a damn s’more.
With this super cute photo booth background!
And possibly the most important activity of all: LIGHTING OFF FIREWORKS!!!
I hope you all have the most wonderful Fourth of July! 🙂
