What’s up guys? You know what kinda sucks? Summer is almost over. August is always such a bittersweet month: ending the fun you’ve had yet getting to start fresh with new beginnings. Continue reading “Salmon Salad Deviled Eggs”
Remember last year when Dairy Queen had all those Jurassic World flavors? I confess, I ate some of the “Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Smash” and it was a f**king party for my tastebuds. SO GOOD. Continue reading “Chocolate Cookie Dough Blast Ice Cream”
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: I freaking love grilling. It’s honestly my favorite part of summer. There’s so much you can do on a grill that you probably wouldn’t even think of! Continue reading “Paleo Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs”
Summer is just my favorite. Isn’t it everyone’s? The weather is nicer, we seem to have more free time, we get to swim and do all the fun stuff, our skin gets more beautiful, the sun gives our hair FREE highlighting. Continue reading “Paleo BBQ Ribs”
Hey you! That’s my new thing…”you”…man, that sounds so creepy…I need to stop that. Okay hey! Now something’s missing.
UGH. Anyways…I’m currently stuck in the house with 6-7ft drifts of snow blocking off my driveway. SIX TO SEVEN FEET WHAT THE HECK. Any of you stuck in the house too?! Continue reading “Red Velvet Protein Balls”
I’ve been wanting to recreate PB&J burgers and make them paleo for quite some time now! My obsession with this sweet & salty burger began when I went on a cross-country road trip this summer. On the way home, we stopped at this amazing bar & grill in Laramie, WY, and my life was forever changed. Anyone remember that picture of pad thai fries I posted? THE GREATEST LIL THINGS I’VE EVER EATEN. SWEAR. Continue reading ““PB”&J Burgers + Crispy Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries”
PB&J is still one of my favorite flavors for everything, and it’s so weird because neither peanut butter nor jelly is paleo. Buuut…when you make your own it is! And almond butter is a pretty good substitute for PB (not peanut butter by any means, but whatevs..you feel me)! This recipe was made initially for my “PB”&J Burger recipe, which is super rad so you must try it, but then I started making jam with the fruit from my garden at least once a week and figured it’s kind of an essential and needs to be shared! Continue reading “Easy Jam Recipe”
Anybody else trying to incorporate a greater variety of vegetables in your diet? I’m going to be completely honest with you guys. I hate mushrooms…until now at least. Like I’ve said so many times before: bacon makes everything better. Something gross? Add bacon, it’ll be okay. Eat something really delicious? Add bacon and you’ll be amazed by how it got even better. Crazy, I know. Therefore, I knew that to make myself like mushrooms a bit more, I better add some bacon. And thus this recipe was created. What I didn’t know was how totally OBSESSED I would be with it. I could eat an entire batch of these at once. It’s bad. Hope y’all like them as much as I do. 🙂
So besides food, what has everyone else been up to?! How’s the open going? OMG, 15.2 KICKED MY BUTT. I’m still sore…3 days later. It was bad. I’m doing the teens scaled workout, and it was still SUPER tough. I made it to the 4th round and got 141 total reps. (kinda glad I was done there though, I was dead!!)
15.1, however, wasn’t nearly as hard. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stick my clean and jerk PR at 105 after failing twice, so I ended up with 95. I’m not taking this too seriously, though, because I’ve only been in crossfit for a little over a month. What I do want to do is fuel my workouts better with food, and it’s been tough for me to figure out the best way to do that since I go to crossfit from 7:30-8:30 and hate eating that late! If anyone has suggestions PLEASE let me know. If I do eat after crossfit it’s usually 4 oz chicken breast and 1/2 cup of sweet potato. Something light, but enough to refuel.
Other than crossfit I’m still working at the local bakery, and HOLY TEMPTATIONS. The carrot cake scent and espresso cake scent get me every freakin’ time. I’m drooling just thinking about it.
Track season has also begun again, and I just love track so much and all of the people I compete with. And the weather gets nice again, so that’s that best part of all!!
I guess that’s about it in a short paraphrase. I wish I could say my life was more entertaining than that, but, umm…haha it’s not. In other news: s/o to this amazing beautiful wonderful awesome weather we’ve been having (in the midwest at least). SUNSHINE I LOVE YOU!

Hey guys! Remember me saying how excited I am about my Vitamix and how I’m going to be posting a ton of recipes using it? Well here’s yet another one…and I have three others currently archived. I’m not gonna lie…the main reason I wanted a Vitamix was to make my own nut butter, and I was shocked by how well it does performing this task! This is just the first of many nut butters I’ll be making with my Vitamix…I may never buy store bought again Continue reading “Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter and 21DSD Round 3!!!”
Hey guys!!! Sorry I’ve been MIA the last few weeks. I was going to do another week of recipes for Christmas and the holidays like I did for Thanksgiving, but I decided to just stick with family recipes/other people’s recipes and really enjoy myself during this season. Boy did I make a lot of cookies. And eat a lot of cookies. Continue reading “Chocolate Eggnog Smoothie”
